Weight: 0.06 A breather valve/gear with too much end play will knock. Any time the gear cover is removed it is standard procedure to set the end play on the breather valve/gear. Shims are available for 1950/Early 1979 that have a .195″ I.D. and Late 1979/1982 that have a .334″ I.D. These steel shims are designed to be used with steel breather valve/gears only. Shim .110″.
